Commission Justice et Paix

The Belgian Justice and Peace Commission (CJP) is a Belgian NGO that does research, education and advocacy to further issues of justice, prevention of conflicts, peace- building, human rights and development.

Our purpose is to develop awareness and a critical knowledge of realities of the society beside the public opinion, and to arouse individual and collective actions of citizens for the promotion of peace and justice in the world.

Studying conflicts and international interdependence, we are convinced that a rigorous analysis of the impact of the natural resources on the dynamics of conflicts in central Africa and Latin America is necessary. This research, developed through dialogue with our partners in Central Africa and Peru and through missions on the ground, constitutes the base for our activities addressed to the educational public (teachers, NGO, etc.) and for our advocacy work at national, European and international levels.

CJP is financed by the Belgian Cooperation for Development and the French-speaking Community of Belgium. It is member of the European Justice and Peaces Commissions Network and coordinates the Natural Resources Belgian Network (RBRN-BNNR).
