Broederlijk Delen
Broederlijk Delen is a Flemish faith-based non-profit organization that supports local groups in the global South to realize their own plans in the fight against poverty and injustice. Broederlijk Delen also engages in awareness raising and advocacy on the causes of poverty and injustice.
Broederlijk Delen has been tackling the issue of natural resources, conflict and development in Central Africa for the past ten years. Together with its partners in the Democratic Republic of Congo and in the Fatal Transactions network, Broederlijk Delen campaigns to transform fatal transactions into fair transactions. In the past, Broederlijk Delen has exposed the role of European companies in the transport, processing and marketing of minerals financing the war in Eastern DRC. Broederlijk Delen has campaigned for the revision of the unfair mining contracts signed during the Congolese war and transition. Currently, Broederlijk Delen is working to promote transparency and good governance in the management of natural resources in the DRC, both in the formal and the informal mining sectors.
