Resources for development?
Natural resources have either been a source or a prolongation of conflict in many countries such as Angola, the DRC, and Sierra Leone. In countries like Ivory Coast, Nigeria and South Africa natural resources still aren't the motor for development they could be. Fatal Transactions focuses on several sub-Saharan African states, rich in natural resources but poor in profiting in a fair way from their natural resource revenues.
