Peace process and conflict diamonds in Côte d’Ivoire

Fatal Transactions and BICC publish paper about conflict diamonds and the peace process in Côte d’Ivoire. The paper concludes that more attention is needed to pre-assess alternative mechanisms to break the link between natural resources and conflict and how they could effectively be combined with other sanctions (in particular financial sanctions) against key actors of the conflict.

Civil society note on the Kimberley Process meeting in India, June 17-19.

NGOs call for expulsion of Venezuela from world body.

Venezuela weakens effort to control conflict diamonds. Therefore Fatal Transactions has signed a call from the Civil society members of the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme for rough diamonds, of which FT is a part, to immediately expulse Venezuela from the KPCS.

Fatal Transactions-BICC panel discussion “Peacebuilding in Practice: Education on Trade and Conflict”
