Environmental standards
European environmental standards?
To our surprise we did not find any European environmental standards regarding uranium mining and environmental degradation in EU legislation and/or policy. However, by accession of the Convention on Nuclear Safety of the IAEA, the EU acknowledges it to be important that the use of nuclear energy is safe, well regulated and environmentally sound.
